Rising Stars | Our Story

To dare to dream is something we want for every kid out there

Rising Stars is a Non-Governmental Organisation designed to support young talents in Egypt within the kite world, hosting educational camps, giving them the chance to compete world-wide. It’s a platform to support kids in reaching their potential dreams — while investing in the next generation by making kitesurfing more accessible through collaborations with kite brands and individuals donating second-hand gear.

Our mission is to give kids a chance to say their dreams out loud and give them stability to work towards them

Our goal is to host camps, and bring kids together that inspire and push each other. Rising Star is a platform focusing on Education, Community, and Inspiration and giving them stability through equipment. The aim is also to invite them into this lifestyle, inspiring and guiding them into finding their routines, setting goals and motivating them to grow and evolve physically and mentally.

Within Education we focus on English, Social media, coaching on/ off the water and being a good ambassador because all those skills play a big role in a kiteboarding career.

Everybody deserves a chance to realise their dreams

"Everybody deserves a chance" is what Mostafa Abbass expressed when we first met. Without Mostafa Abbass, a local rider from Ras-sedr, none of this would have ever happened. Mostafa told us before arriving in Dahab for the first time about the kids in Blue Lagoon sharing 1 kite, throwing leashes between each other just making it possible in any way to be on the water. It's hard to describe it until you see it for yourself: the passion, the warmth that comes from the people out here is just different.

He is such an amazing role model to the kids here in Egypt and we could not have asked for a better partner in this journey. Mostafa’s vision is for the kids to be happy, to be part of an organisation that he wished existed at his age and pushes the kids to take it in their own hands and work hard so that together we can reach their goals.

That is why through Rising Stars the aim is to support the kids with gear, financial support for national/ international competitions and any transportation in line with those aspects.
